My top 5 must-have skin care products that you should buy now!

Updated: Nov 9, 2023

We all know that skincare is so in right now—and for good reason. We have finally accumulated the knowledge that skin care is essential in slowing down the aging process, preventing fine lines, hyperpigmentation and clogged pores. Speaking of clogged pores, I cringe at the times when I would sleep in my makeup. No wonder I looked 10 years older than I was! Moving on to more important things, I‘ve said it once and I‘ll say it again—wear your sunscreen, people! Even though, yes locking in moisture and using all of those amazing ingredients consisting of peptides, glycolic acid, etc. are beneficial, nothing ages your skin faster than that golden, bright ball of UV fire in the sky; the Sun. So in no particular order, I will share a list of my top 5 favorite skin care products that worked for me and I think you should try too!

1. DHC Deep Cleansing Oil:

I have not tried anything better that removes my makeup as fast, as easy and as gently as this deep cleansing oil. The problem I tend to have with cleansing balms or other oils is that they tend to burn my eyes. I don’t know about you but that’s just not an experience I want to continually put myself through. This is a Japanese-based skincare product that is made of 100% organic olive oil, rosemary leaf and vitamin E. It binds with sebum, dissolves impurities and breaks down even the most stubborn makeup. It leaves my skin feeling soft, hydrated and protected. My favorite part is…it doesn’t burn my eyes and it’s only $32 for 6.7oz. This baby lasts a while.

2. Sonia Roselli Sexapeel:

This is a Korean Gommage Exfoliation Spray. Korean beauty is such a hot topic right now—as it should be! I personally believe Korean skincare is superior and far more advanced than anything we make or sell here in the states. I’m so overjoyed the skincare industry and others are catching on to these amazing formulas.

Sexapeel was designed to quickly remove dead skin cells, boost circulation and hydrate. I call this my instant skin refresh when I start lacking in my skin care routine. It instantly gives me a radiance boost and smoother texture. I use this on every single one of my bridal clients. This exfoliator ensures smoother and more well-toned skin with ingredients like aloe vera, glycolic acid, papaya enzymes and moringa oil. This can be used on your face, décolletage and pretty much all over from head to toe. Just not you-know-where.

3. Roselli Water Oil:

I guess we‘ll just keep it going with another fire Sonia Roselli product that I absolutely love, and staying on theme with another Japanese-inspired product. Its main purpose is to retain moisture and prevent transepidermal water loss, or TEWL, in your skin, resulting in a fresh and radiant glow. I’ll admit, I didn’t get the point of face oils and thought they just left you feeling greasy. But I have to say this one just hits different. My favorite part of Sonia Roselli products, including this one, is how light weight most of her product line is. Whenever I am feeling extra dry or have a client that has super dehydrated skin, I add one or two drops of this bad boy and any makeup goes on like butter! My concern with using an oil under makeup was that the makeup was going to slip and slide all over the place. However, with this product I did not find that to be the case. I love that this contains ingredients like Rice Bran Oil, Avocado Oil, JoJoba Seed Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Prunus Mume Fruit Extract and so much more.

4. Embryolisse Lait Crème:

When I tell you this is every makeup artist’s secret weapon, I mean it! Theres a reason one of these are sold every 20 seconds all around the world. This rich, indulgent, non-comedogenic crème is made in France and can be use in, not one, but six different ways. That’s what I’m talking about, multi-purpose, baby! Before I get into the multi-functions of this magic potion, let’s go over some of its amazing ingredients.

With active ingredients like shea butter, beeswax, aloe vera, and soy proteins, it’s no wonder your skin is left feeling decadent and soft. Now on to what it can do.

Here are the six ways to use Embryolisse Lait Crème:

1. Moisturizing Cream (Duh)

2. Mask

3. Cleansing Milk

4. After-Shave

5. After-Sun care

6. Make-up base (Hence, why makeup artist love it)

What I love about this line is it has different versions of this product that caters to different skin concerns. For instance, they have a mattifying version for oily skin types and a sensitive one that is fragrance-free and is even safe on babies. That’s right, I said babies! If you haven’t tried this yet, I highly recommend you do. Not only is it on the more affordable side but it’s extremely emollient, meaning a little goes a long way.

5.Beauty of Joseon:

Last, but not least, this is my favorite, most used SPF that I own. This is yet another Korean skin care product (surprise, surprise) that I’ve been trying out for the past year and the verdict is in—I am obsessed! I love how light weight and creamy it feels on my skin. It is not greasy or sticky feeling like the ones sold/made here in the U.S. It includes ingredients like 30% rice extract and grain fermented extracts that are rich in vitamins B, C, E, amino acids, and minerals which help to calm and moisturize dry skin. When using this SPF, be sure to apply after all of your skin care and serums. If you have oily skin, you can skip adding moisturizers. I also like that there are ingredients in this that help to block blue light, considering I work on my computer and phone constantly. Though no studies have been conducted to prove it, I will continue to use this and repurchase this again and again. As a matter of fact, I got to go put in an order right now. See ya!
